Legal Clinic: Sexual Harassment Prevention Policies
Application Deadline: July 11, 2023 - (The event is free but organizations must apply, and be accepted to attend)
Every business in Chicago, including nonprofits, must have a Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy provided to its employees.
Join LCA and attorneys from Seyfarth Shaw LLP on July 19 from 11AM-2PM CT, including lunch, for an in-person bylaws clinic. Each organization will be paired with an attorney(s) from Seyfarth to work through and update or develop their nonprofit's sexual harassment prevention policy. Participating organizations will walk away with a sexual harassment prevention policy that complies with all legal requirements and instructions on how to share the policy with their employees, interns, and contractors.
- Applicant must be incorporated as a nonprofit in the state of Illinois for at least 2 years and be in Good Standing with the state of Illinois,
- The organization must have at least 2 employees,
- A staff leader must attend in-person on July 19, and
- The organization’s budget for FY2022 may not exceed $750,000
Upon receipt of your application and determination of eligibility, LCA will contact you. At that point, we will provide the application to Seyfarth for acceptance in the clinic. Once your application has been approved by both LCA and Seyfarth, we will notify you about the location, etc. Please block off the time for the clinic on your staff member’s calendar immediately.
