IP Fundamentals for Music Professionals

Intellectual property is at the heart of the music business, and understanding what you own, how to protect it, and how to get paid for it can be complicated. This program will provide music professionals with a practical introduction to the fundamentals of intellectual property law and how it applies to their work.

Attorney Alyssa Yoshino will cover the different types of intellectual property, including copyright, digital music royalties, and trademark considerations. She’ll also discuss split sheets, AI, and how to register your work with the US Copyright Office.

The program will conclude with a Q&A, and is IL CLE pending.
