Focus on Funding the Artists: What’s Happening in Springfield & Washington D.C.

The Business of Art

The African American Arts Alliance and Lawyers for the Creative Arts Presents:

The Business of ART

In 2022 we introduced The Business of ART, three workshops that supported individual artist-entrepreneurs to build capacity, and resiliency and offered an array of resources to help artists thrive in their creative practices and evolve over time.

In 2023, The Business of ART returns with three new virtual and free workshops and discussions, offering legal and business resources that will support the development, growth, and sustainability of creative entrepreneurs.

These workshops will arm you with impactful resources to support your creative practices, including:

  • Understand legal concepts that apply to content/Intellectual Property in your area of the arts.
  • Get information on the legalities and issues you’ll face setting up your business structure for-profit or nonprofit.
  • Learn about support for individual artists through the new Chicago Recovery Act grant opportunities!
