In Trial in the Delta, Collaboraction transforms the long-buried transcript of the 1955 trial of the men who murdered Emmett Till into a gripping, immersive theatrical experience. The performance unfolds like a live reenactment of the proceedings in Sumner, Mississippi, with actors seated among the audience rising to deliver testimony for both prosecution and defense—including the courageous Mamie Till-Bradley. The result is an unfiltered, face-to-face encounter with history and the legal system at a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement.

Born from a collaboration with NBC5 Chicago, the project won a National Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary, two Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards, and a Silver Gavel Award from the American Bar Association. The teleplay was later expanded into a full-length immersive production staged at the DuSable Black History Museum. The final live performance was professionally filmed and continues to be screened nationwide for audiences including the The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Institute, the Chicago History Museum, the Federal Bar Association (Chicago Chapter), and the First Circuit Court of Philadelphia.
