presented by
University of Chicago Graham SchoolChicago Women in Publishing, and Lawyers for the Creative Arts

As an editor, understanding the legal issues surrounding the industry is extremely important for your business, especially if you’re a freelancer. In this seminar, you will learn more about copyright basics, privacy violations, fair use considerations, and trademarks. We will also cover key contract terms such as scope of work and royalties. This seminar will be beneficial to any freelancer, author, or editor who has ever had questions about these complicated legal issues. This is a free event in partnership with the University of Chicago Graham School.
After the event, attendees can head over to the Midway Club on the 5th floor of the Gleacher Center for additional networking and a cash bar.
