#MeToo and #TimesUp: Finding a Path Forward

Breakout session at the 73rd National Conference of the League of American Orchestras

Disturbing stories of sexual misconduct have surfaced from around the country including from orchestras. The victims’ narratives continue to expose the formal and informal power structures that suppress allegations and stymy recourse. This session explored the power dynamics and structural hierarchies that have created the hostile work environment and suggested strategies for building a culture of appropriate and respectful behavior within the orchestra community.
