Tattoos & Copyright

About the Program:

Dive into the vibrant world of tattoo art and copyright law in an interactive Zoom session with Lawyers for the Creative Arts and attorney/tattoo enthusiast Jen Nacht. From celebrity cases to local artists, tattoos have increasingly raised questions about ownership, intellectual property rights, the right to publicly display, and protections available under current copyright laws.

This program will cover the basics of copyright law as it applies to tattoo artists and works, explore what happens when tattoos are reproduced in media, and discuss the rights and responsibilities of both tattoo artists and clients. Plus, we’ll take your questions! Whether you’re an artist, a tattoo enthusiast, or just curious, join us to unpack the legal side of body art and gain insights into protecting creative work in this unique field.
